Cashmo casino review: why the brand closed, what happened to its licence and the copycat sites using its name

Licence, register checked

UKGC licence 002091-R-104264-033 (In Touch Games Limited), surrendered 2023

What works
  • Was a properly UKGC-licensed operator with in-house games while it ran
  • Players were given notice to withdraw balances before deposits closed in February 2023
What does not
  • Closed since February 2023; cashmo.co.uk now redirects to unrelated websites
  • In Touch Games paid £2.2m (2019), £3.4m (2021) and £6.1m (2023) in UK regulatory penalties before its licence was suspended and surrendered
  • Five copycat domains present themselves as the 'official' Cashmo in 2026, one quoting the surrendered licence number
  • It was a sterling-only UK brand; whether it ever accepted Republic of Ireland players could not be verified

What Cashmo was

Cashmo launched in 2019 as one of eight brands run by In Touch Games Limited of Birmingham, the company that built mFortune, PocketWin, Dr Slot, Mr Spin, Casino 2020, Bonus Boss and Jammy Monkey. Its pitch was fifty free spins on registration with no deposit, a £50 cap on what those spins could pay out, and a catalogue of in-house slots built by the group’s own studio and its Slot Factory label. Minimum deposits were £3 by phone bill and £5 by other methods, with PayPal, Paysafecard and debit cards accepted. It held a single licence, from the UK Gambling Commission, and priced everything in sterling.

Whether it ever opened accounts for players in the Republic of Ireland could not be established. The operator’s terms are gone with the site, and none of the pages that still describe the casino mention Ireland or euro.

When and why it closed

The closure came in two steps. Bingoparadise preserves the operator’s notice dated 21 February 2023: players had been informed, were asked to log in and withdraw any remaining balance, and from 22 February 2023 could no longer deposit or register. LCB’s listing carries the same month. That was a month after the UK Gambling Commission’s £6.1 million penalty of 25 January 2023 for social-responsibility and anti-money-laundering failings, which named cashmo.co.uk among eleven sites and recorded earlier penalties of £2.2 million in 2019 and £3.4 million in 2021.

Then, on 1 September 2023, the Commission suspended the licence outright, citing suspected non-compliance on money laundering, fair and transparent terms, and the reporting of key events. In Touch Games surrendered the licence on 5 September 2023. The public register today shows every one of its licences as Surrendered, with cashmo.co.uk and the Cashmo trading name marked inactive. One small discrepancy: the register’s end date is 4 September, the news notice says the 5th.

A digression that explains the sudden collapse. Companies House shows Skywind Holdings taking control of In Touch Games on 2 June 2022. By 2024 Skywind was in court alleging that the acquisition, reported at £51 million to £53 million, had been induced by fraud, including a claim that a 2021 code change allowed customer verification records to be deleted; the former owners deny it. The company is now recorded as non-trading, registered in London, with a compulsory strike-off proposal on file as of February 2026.

What happened to player funds

The February 2023 notice asked players to withdraw, and the September suspension notice stated that the suspension did not prevent players accessing accounts and withdrawing. Betbond reports that balances could be withdrawn into early 2024. No liquidator, administrator or claims process appears on Companies House or in any source, so a player who missed that window has no obvious route left. The Trustpilot profile for the parent company, at 1.6 from 28 reviews, stops in August 2023, and its final entries are about withdrawals and repeated document requests.

Lookalike domains

This is where the brand does damage in 2026. cashmo.casino titles itself “Cashmo, Official Site In United Kingdom”, offers fifty free spins and a £500 welcome package, and prints In Touch Games’ name and the surrendered licence number in its footer while its own terms name no company at all. casinocashmo-uk.com promotes a “£1,200 + 250 free spins” package and states that it runs “on an offshore Curaçao basis”. Three more, casinocashmo.com, cashmocasino.net and cashmo-casino.uk, style themselves as the official login page in search results. None is connected to the licensed operator, because the licensed operator has no licence.

Where to play instead

If you came here for a small-stakes mobile casino with free spins on sign-up, the honest advice is that the Cashmo model was built around a UK licence that no longer exists and around inducements the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 will restrict once Irish licences issue. Choose a brand with a current MGA or UKGC licence that accepts Irish players in euro from the real-money casino list, and if a site calling itself Cashmo asks you for card details, report it through the blacklist page.

Cashmo questions

5 questions

Is Cashmo still open?

01
No. Deposits and registrations stopped on 22 February 2023, the UK Gambling Commission suspended the operator's licence on 1 September 2023 and the licence was surrendered four days later. The cashmo.co.uk domain now redirects to websites that have nothing to do with gambling.

Why did Cashmo close?

02
The operator, In Touch Games, closed all eight of its brands in February 2023, a month after a £6.1 million UK penalty for social-responsibility and anti-money-laundering failings, its third penalty in four years. The regulator then suspended the licence over suspected further failings and the company surrendered it.

Can I still withdraw money from Cashmo?

03
The closure notice in February 2023 asked players to log in and withdraw remaining balances, and the regulator's suspension notice said withdrawals must stay open. No fund-return process or liquidator has been published since, and the company is non-trading with a strike-off proposal on file, so recovery now is unlikely.

Are the Cashmo sites I see in search results real?

04
No. cashmo.casino calls itself the official site and even prints the surrendered licence number; casinocashmo-uk.com admits it runs on an offshore Curaçao basis. Neither belongs to the licensed operator, which no longer exists as a trading business.

Did Cashmo accept Irish players?

05
It was a sterling-only UK brand licensed solely by the UK Gambling Commission, and no source that could be opened confirms it took Republic of Ireland customers. The point is moot now; the casino is closed.
